Five Skincare Resolutions You Need To Make In 2021
We’ve still got a LOT of 2021 left and that means it’s definitely not too late to focus on making realistic, healthy, positive changes to improve your general wellbeing and lifestyle.
At Stemlab, we prefer a considerate, holistic approach to beauty that focuses on the concept of ‘nourish to flourish’ and wellness from the inside out.
If you aren’t sure where to start, we have 5 skincare resolutions suggestions below:
Create and commit to a self-care routine
Creating sustainable self-care is such an important component of your mental, physical and emotional state of mind and wellness. See if you can set aside some time each morning or evening, or even one day a week (such as Self Care Sunday for example), and get into a routine.
This provides an opportunity for you to reframe your mindset before you undertake a task, or even better, to ‘turn off’ from a busy day and separate the working week from the weekend.
Nobody knows you better than you, so choose an approach that makes you feel the most present, calm and relaxed.
- Indulging yourself and your senses in a warm bath enriched with soothing aromatic botanical oils to ease muscles and relieve stress. Add a nourishing face mask for some skin TLC.
- Practicing a mindful activity such as meditation or yoga to invite calm and reconnect to yourself.
- Relaxing with a cup of herbal tea (many contain health-boosting antioxidants) in a sunny spot can help boost your serotonin levels and reduce anxiety.
Invest in your best self
This can take many forms:
- Personal Growth: undertake a course or teach yourself something new. It could be a creative pursuit such as painting or dance, or perhaps a passionate project such as learning a language or reimagining and adapting a personal space to create a haven – such as your bedroom or office.
- Invest in your Wellness: perhaps visit a sauna to help detoxify your body or have a massage. If you haven’t already, consider making the switch to high-quality, natural products to elevate your skin. The long-term results and benefits will be worth the investment for naturally radiant, healthy skin that glows.
Take time to disconnect
We are often so connected to our devices that they become second nature to us. Although they are amazing for staying informed on current affairs, and our nearest and dearest, social media can also be a negative space at times and taking some time to disconnect every now and then is a great thing for mindfulness.
An ideal time to practice this is at least an hour before bed where lowering your exposure to the blue light your electronic devices emit can help you enjoy a deeper, more restful sleep.
Sleep is such an essential component of wellness as our body regenerates and heals during this time, so we need to create optimum conditions for it to do its thing!
Live your values
For example, if you are eco-conscious and believe in sustainability, ensure you actively support businesses who live these values and adopt positive practices.
At Stemlab, our products are vegan, cruelty free and prepared with respect and care. We source our ingredients sustainably and ethically by partnering with local Australian farmers who grow and harvest our natural ingredients to support our community.
Our holistic approach is more than skin deep and we are affiliated with 1% for the Planet, a global non-profit organisation dedicated to sustainability and environmentalism.

Chang is as good as a holiday
Don’t underestimate the power of a ‘stay-cay’. Although we may not be enjoying a Greek island holiday anytime soon, that doesn’t mean you can’t manifest this energy and make it come to you!
Invite some friends over and theme the evening with delicious flat breads, dips, blue and white décor and music. Why not try a different country every month for a cultural foray that brings you all some joy!
